Organisations associated with the BCAAC

What are these?

There are a number of organisations associated to the BCAAC. We actively work with these most often on planning matters, and some of them are represented by members on our committee.

Ancient Monuments Society

The Ancient Monuments Society was founded in 1924 'for the study and conservation of ancient monuments, historic buildings and fine old craftsmanship'. They are committed not only to campaigning for historic and beautiful buildings, but to furthering the study of them.

Bloomsbury Association

Frequently engaged

Formed in 1972 and incorporating Bloomsbury Community Association. Promoting Civic Social Responsibility, Quality of Life and the Preservation of our Cultural and Architectural Heritage.

Bloomsbury Squares & Gardens

An umbrella group of the Friends and other organisations that support or manage the many historic squares and gardens in Bloomsbury.

Charlotte Street Association

Amenity society in the Fitzrovia area bounded by Oxford Street, Wells Street, Cleveland Street, Euston Road and Gower Street.

Camden Civic Society

Represented on the BCAAC

The Camden Civic Society is a charitable campaigning organisation of people who live or work in Camden and care about what happens to its physical environment.

Covent Garden Community Association

Frequently engaged

The representative voice of residents, businesses, and working community of Covent Garden, actively protecting and promoting their interests.

Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Association

The Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Association are a registered charity and aim to improve the quality of life for those living and working in the central London neighbourhood of Fitzrovia.

Friends of Argyle Square

Represented on the BCAAC

Friends of Argyle Square ensure the preservation and enhancement of the designated Argyle Square and its listed buildings.

The Georgian Group

Based in Fitzroy Square in one of our conservation areas, the group campaigns against the neglect, maltreatment and destruction of Georgian buildings, parks, and gardens in England and Wales.

Friends of Red Lion Square

Frequently engaged

Promoting and protecting Red Lion Square and the surrounding area, and suggesting proposals for its appropriate enhancement.

The Seven Dials Trust

A charity which has restored and carefully curates the Seven Dials area.

The Twentieth Century Society

The Twentieth Century Society was founded as the Thirties Society in 1979, and  exists to safeguard the heritage of architecture and design in Britain from 1914 onwards.

The Victorian Society

Frequently engaged

Victorian and Edwardian buildings are irreplaceable, cherished, diverse, beautiful, familiar and part of our everyday life. The Victorian Society is the champion for these buildings.
